Driving

SCROLL DOWN

Driving

Two skills create the foundation of a skilled Operator. The first is Marshaling. To marshal you must know how to be marshaled. The second is Operating. Both are crucial elements to any vehicle activity.

Marshaling is more than 'spotting' people around a rock or over a ledge. Marshaling requires knowledge of terrain variables, vehicle capability, and driver capability. The Marshaling class is recommended for a driver team per vehicle. Any skill level will benefit. It is a prerequisite for the Operator class.

Operating a vehicle is far more in depth than knowing how to 'drive'. A vehicle is a tool and knowing how to properly operate it prevents unnecessary damage to the tool, the user, and the environment. Learn and practice these skills on a course designed to test your skill behind the wheel.

Towing off-road involves a different mindset than towing on-road. One must constantly predict what the object they are towing will do, and its often what the least expect. The trailer and towing course with TCVT focuses the participant on predicting and compensating for the challenges a trailer will add.
